Namibia plans major expansion of the international airport near Windhoek
The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has announced plans to build a third terminal at Hosea Kutako International Airport, east of Windhoek. Up to five billion Namibia dollars (around 240 million Euros) are set to be invested in the project. To date, HKIA has a main terminal, which was expanded a few years ago and handles virtually all scheduled flights*. To the east of this is the VIP terminal, which is intended for VIP guests and domestic scheduled flights. According to NAC Managing Director Bisey |Uirab, the construction project for a third terminal is to be completed by 2030.
